Woodwind Versatility
While some of the greatest film scores would be unimaginable without woodwinds, their tonal possibilities extend far beyond the screen, as diverse as the genres in which they've captivated millions of viewers and listeners.
Beyond the classical realm, their versatility has left a mark on countless pop, rock, and even hip-hop recordings.
Whether you're on a Mission to play your oboe in the depths of the South American jungle or want to utilize the woodwinds in a whole new urban context, this Collection rises to every creative challenge.
Dry Precision or Deep Ambience
All solo instruments were recorded in the relatively dry and controlled ambience of our very own Silent Stage.
Use the included mixer presets to enhance them with the optional convolution or algorithmic reverb, or place them in any virtual acoustic environment of your choice.
Whether you prefer it crisp and dry or rich and resonant - the choice is yours, with a host of options for tweaking and tinkering.
The Synchron Player's integrated convolution reverb is derived from our acclaimed Vienna MIR Pro 3D and adds the outstanding ambience of the 540 m2 (5,813 sq.ft.) main hall of Synchron Stage Vienna in real-time.
The perfectly engineered reverberation and placement presets combine customized impulse responses with expertly crafted reverb settings for each instrument.
Expansive Expressions
The free Expansion Set added new articulations and phrases to all instruments of Studio Woodwinds.
It now includes sforzatissimo, crescendos, diminuendos, pfp, runs, arpeggios and third trills for most of the included instruments.
You'll also find mordents (for piccolo, flute and oboe), clarinet glissandos, slap tongues, and a large set of multiphonics of the second clarinet in Bb.
Using the Synchron Player’s time-stretch feature, it's easy to change the tempo of these phrases in real-time, or to sync them to the host tempo.
The expansion set also includes "pure legatos" and "interval marcatos".
What you hear are the naturally played note transitions, from a starting note to the original, unlooped target note, making for very natural and lively legato passages since every interval is followed by an individually played sustained note.
