The Basics

iLok is a copy protection method used by many of our brands.

It has 3 types of activations, iLok USB, iLok Machine, and iLok Cloud.

Different brands/products will offer different iLok methods. iLok USB is always an option, but the availability of iLok Cloud and iLok Machine methods is at the discretion of the software developer.

iLok Account

For all iLok protected products, you will need an iLok account. You can create one for free here: ilok.com/#!registration

iLok License Manager

To manage your iLok licenses, there is a dedicated app called iLok License Manager. This app is used to register, activate, and move your licenses between locations.

You can download the latest installers from the iLok website: ilok.com/#!home

iLok USB Key

iLok USB

This activation is stored on an iLok 2 or 3 USB key.

It is the best option for portability, if you frequently move between multiple machines, and offline use.

iLok Machine ID

Machine ID

This activation is stored locally on your computer.

While this is a convenient way to work offline, and does not require the additional cost of an iLok USB, there is the risk of a license being lost in the case of a drive failure.

This option also requires extra care when you upgrade to a new computer, the license(s) must be deactivated on your old machine first to ensure you do not lose them.

iLok Cloud

iLok Cloud

This activation is based online, and requires a "cloud session" using the iLok License Manager.

It requires an active internet connection for the entire time you use the plugin(s).

Repro: Analog, Meticulously Recreated

Repro dives into the past for analog inspiration, meticulously modeling two famous synthesizers.

Every detail of the original was captured using component-level modelling technology to create the most authentic model possible.

All the subtle characteristics and quirks found in the originals are present in Repro.

One product, one installer, two synths: Repro-1 and Repro-5.

Repro-1 is a fierce mono synth: hard-working, raw sounding and immediately playable. The classic design is simple and intuitive but belies a deep feature set capable of a wide range of sounds.

  • Powerful analogue sound using component-level modeling
  • 2 multi-wave oscillators: saw/pulse and saw / triangle / pulse
  • Tweak page for adjusting component behavior
  • 4-pole resonant lowpass filter
  • Proudly monophonic
  • Arpeggiator with latch mode
  • Twin 32-step sequencer, 64 steps if chained
  • Built-in effects: analog-style delay / chorus, EQ / resonator, plate reverb, sonic conditioner, wave folder
  • 3 modulation sources controlling 5 destinations
  • Sleepy mode to save CPU when Repro-1 is idle
  • Host-syncable LFO with 3 waveforms
  • Over 500 factory presets
  • NEW in v1.1.2: Support for Oddsound MTS-ESP

Repro-5 is the new polyphonic addition. It has a lot in common with Repro-1, a similar design and feature plus shared sonic DNA. But Repro-5 introduces new flavors, most notably is the ability to play lush chords or thick unison leads, while keeping the authentic analog sound.

  • Powerful analog sound using component-level modeling
  • 2 multi-wave oscillators: saw/pulse and saw / triangle / pulse
  • Tweak page for adjusting component behavior
  • 4-pole resonant lowpass filter
  • Based on famous 5-voice polyphonic hardware synth
  • 8 voice polyphonic, or up to 8 voice unison with optional glide
  • Individual voice panning
  • Audio-rate voice modulation: Oscillator A frequency, pulse width, filter cutoff
  • Polyphonic distortion unit with 4 types including bit crusher
  • Built-in effects: analog-style delay / chorus, EQ / resonator, plate reverb, sonic conditioner, tape emulation effect
  • Over 950 factory presets

At first glance, Repro-1 and Repro-5 are simple and intuitive, but the clean and classic designs hide deep feature sets capable of a wide range of sounds.

Repro-5 shares a lot of sonic DNA with Repro-1, but adds new flavors and characteristics. First: it's polyphonic! Play rich pads, shape them using the resonant lowpass filter, drive the polyphonic distortion unit as hard as you like, and finally polish your sound with five built-in effects. Keep it lush, or go for thick detuned unison leads. Repro-5 adds new dimensions to the familiar classic sound while keeping analogue authenticity front and centre.

Tweaks Panel

Eye-candy like in Repro-1, the Tweaks page is there to let you change the fundamental behavior of individual modules. The Repro-5 version includes 10 user-adjustable jumpers (mini circuit connectors) and 6 module tweak selectors, plus Microtuning. All the main controls of the synthesizer are also accessible.

Additionally, since Repro-5 is polyphonic, there's access to a row of 8 trimmers used to set a stereo pan position for each individual voice.

Polyphonic Distortion

While Repro-1 includes a sequencer, Repro-5 comes with a distortion unit.

Each voice has its own processor, which means there is no interaction between notes in a chord.

The distortion gets applied to the signal before the rest of the included effects.

There are four different modes available: Soft Clip, Hard Clip, Foldback, and Corrode - a sample rate reducer and bit crusher, all-in-one.

Repro-5 ships with a set of 5 (excluding the distortion unit) high quality effects in the shape of stomp-boxes. From subtle to extreme adjustments, this section expands the polyphonic synthesizer's capabilities beyond expectations.

While Repro-1 includes Jaws (a wavefolder), Repro-5 replaces it with a saturation unit: Velvet, with support to different modes, followed by the same effects found in the monophonic brother: Lyrebird (a flexible delay, which inspired the creation of Colour Copy), RESQ (semi-parametric EQ or resonator), Drench (a lush plate reverb), and Sonic Conditioner (a stereo saturator and transient designer - to add the right amount of gelatine to your patches). All effects are rearrangeable through drag and drop in the FX Chain section.
