The Basics

iLok is a copy protection method used by many of our brands.

It has 3 types of activations, iLok USB, iLok Machine, and iLok Cloud.

Different brands/products will offer different iLok methods. iLok USB is always an option, but the availability of iLok Cloud and iLok Machine methods is at the discretion of the software developer.

iLok Account

For all iLok protected products, you will need an iLok account. You can create one for free here: ilok.com/#!registration

iLok License Manager

To manage your iLok licenses, there is a dedicated app called iLok License Manager. This app is used to register, activate, and move your licenses between locations.

You can download the latest installers from the iLok website: ilok.com/#!home

iLok USB Key

iLok USB

This activation is stored on an iLok 2 or 3 USB key.

It is the best option for portability, if you frequently move between multiple machines, and offline use.

iLok Machine ID

Machine ID

This activation is stored locally on your computer.

While this is a convenient way to work offline, and does not require the additional cost of an iLok USB, there is the risk of a license being lost in the case of a drive failure.

This option also requires extra care when you upgrade to a new computer, the license(s) must be deactivated on your old machine first to ensure you do not lose them.

iLok Cloud

iLok Cloud

This activation is based online, and requires a "cloud session" using the iLok License Manager.

It requires an active internet connection for the entire time you use the plugin(s).

Create The Realistic & Mix Ready Bass Lines Your Music Deserves

Singularity Virtual Bass is aimed squarely at modern rock and metal creators who want professional, realistic bass lines at their fingertips without investing time and money into learning bass, tracking real instruments, or wrestling with a maze of external plugins.

Whether you're a guitarist laying down a full production at home, a composer creating aggressive soundtracks, or a producer stuck with a dull, lifeless bass track that needs a total overhaul, Singularity offers a streamlined, all-in-one solution.

Unlike many virtual libraries that use decades-old frameworks like Kontakt, Singularity is built from the ground up with cutting-edge sample playback algorithms and advanced AI modeling.

At its core is a meticulously sampled Kiesel Precision 5-string with Jazz pickups, ensuring every note carries the nuanced timbre and depth of a high-end instrument.

That means the minute you load it, you've got lifelike fret noises, natural dynamic expressions, and meticulously sampled articulations that avoid the dreaded "machine-gun" effect.

You can switch seamlessly between pick and fingerstyle at any time, so there's no need to hunt for additional expansions or libraries just to explore different playing techniques.

The integrated amp simulation is a standout feature.

Instead of juggling countless plugins or searching for the perfect distortion, Singularity's built-in engine lets you quickly dial in anything from a classic low-end rumble to a crushing modern metal crunch - no extra plugins needed.

The presets included are mix-ready, so you can instantly achieve a bold, defined bass presence, or you can customize the settings to craft a signature tone for your music.

Best of all, Singularity removes the usual technical or logistical barriers that can hold back your creative flow.

There's no worrying about re-takes, editing, mic placement, or re-amping.

You don't have to compromise by relying on simplistic stock bass sounds or one-off sample packs.

By combining cutting-edge sampling methods with an AI-powered modeling, Singularity delivers the authentic, driving energy your mix demands - with the simplicity of a single, ready-to-go virtual instrument.

If you're a musician who wants to focus on writing, arranging, and producing top-tier rock or metal music without getting sidetracked by gear limitations, Singularity Virtual Bass has you covered.

It's your ticket to realistic, powerful bass that drops easily into any mix - letting you pour your time into the music itself, rather than into endless setups or technical patchwork.

Play With a Pick or Fingers

Singularity allows you to seamlessly switch between pick and fingerstyle in one streamlined instrument - something rarely offered in the virtual bass world.

This dual approach matters because these two playing methods produce distinctly different tones.

Think of the bright, biting pick tone of Jason Newsted (Metallica) or David Ellefson (Megadeth), which cuts fiercely through dense mixes.

Compare that with the fluid finger technique of Cliff Burton (Metallica) or Steve Harris (Iron Maiden), delivering a warmer, rounder attack that adds groove and melodic clarity.

By covering both styles, Singularity frees you to explore that crisp, attacking edge on one track and a more organic, bass-forward warmth on the next - all without juggling multiple libraries.

It's an easy way to capture the signature feel of your favorite bands, right inside a single, intuitive tool.

Unlimited Tone Control

Singularity gives you total control over your tone, thanks in large part to its multiple built-in preamps - each modeled after the kind of classic tube heads and modern solid-state designs cherished by rock and metal producers.

Rather than settling for a single, generic "baked-in" sound, Singularity lets you switch between these carefully crafted modules with just a click, opening up a vast tonal palette.

Whether you crave the rounded warmth of a vintage tube circuit for slower grooves or the razor-sharp precision of a more modern preamp for high-speed riffs, you'll find it ready to go.

What truly sets these preamps apart is the fidelity of the modeling itself.

Instead of relying on dated algorithms, Singularity employs advanced AI and machine learning to capture the distinct harmonic complexity and breakup characteristics of real-world gear.

This approach allows for an impressively realistic response under varying input levels - digging in produces the same dynamic push and saturation you'd expect from a genuine tube or transistor circuit.

The result? You can dial in everything from a smooth, low-mid thump to a biting, full-spectrum crunch that sears through any mix.

Because these preamps are baked right into Singularity's engine, there's no need to manage extra plugins or chain multiple effects just to achieve a signature sound.

With just a few tweaks, you can glide from a punchy, modern aggression perfect for down-tuned metal to a rounded, classic heft ideal for more traditional rock lines.

It's this flexibility - and the astonishing realism of the underlying modeling - that makes Singularity's tone controls one of its defining features.

Premium Built-In IRs

Finally, part of controlling the sound of your bass is selecting a reasonable speaker that gives you the sound you already want.

We have included 5 different impulse responses that are aptly named after the type of sound you are looking for. Pick the IR that gets you the closest to your sound, and tweak from there.

Of course, we also gave you the option to load your very own IR right into the plugin.

Modern & Classic Distortion

We created two differently voiced preamps: modern and classic.

The "Modern" preamp style was carefully crafted by hand, piece by piece, in order to give you that undeniable mid-grunt, modern sound that you hear from bands like Mastodon, Gojira, The Deftones, and Baroness.

The "Classic" style models the legendary SansAmp.

If you know Slipknot, Rammstein, Tool, Lamb of God, or RUSH, then you know how amazing it sounds. In order to create the best possible digital replica, we used the advancements made possible by machine learning to go beyond what traditional coding has been able to do.

Whether you want that more modern, mid-guttural sound or the classic slinky clank of old–Singularity has you covered.

Alternatively, you could just turn off the distortion and go clean DI and re-amp yourself!

Humanize

One of the most common pitfalls with virtual bass instruments is that same stale, repetitive sound that screams "programmed MIDI" - especially over rapid passages or dense riffs.

Singularity addresses this head-on with its dedicated Humanize feature, giving you direct control over subtle timing variations, velocity changes, and other micro-differences that a real bassist naturally produces.

Instead of wrestling with dozens of automation lanes or complex scripting, you can dial in as much or as little "imperfection" as you need using a single knob.

That might sound like a minor detail, but it's the secret to making your bass lines feel authentic, dynamic, and alive.

Whether you're going for the hyper-precise lockstep of modern metal or a looser, groove-based style, Humanize helps avoid the mechanical "machine-gun" effect, where every note sounds too perfect and robs the music of energy.

By focusing so intensely on realism, Singularity gives you a final production that can genuinely pass for a live performer's take - complete with the nuanced interactions between notes that make a great bass line stand out.

It's the difference between a sterile sample track and a performance that truly breathes.

Pitch Correction

Pitch correction on bass might sound counterintuitive at first - after all, it's often treated as a tool just for vocals.

However, in modern rock and metal, keeping the bass perfectly in tune can be a game-changer for achieving a punchy, cohesive mix.

When a bassist hits a note with extra force, the string's tension spikes momentarily, making the initial attack sharper than intended.

Over the course of a song, these quick, repeated pitch overshoots can create a muddy, inconsistent feel when layered with guitars that are the correct pitch.

That's exactly why renowned producer Andy Sneap began applying subtle pitch correction to bass guitars, and it's why Singularity Virtual Bass includes its Pitch Correct feature right out of the box.

Sneap, known for working with acts like Judas Priest and Megadeth, realized that if the bass wavers off pitch - especially on those forceful initial transients - the entire mix can lose energy or clarity.

By stabilizing those sharp attacks and ensuring the attack of each note lines up perfectly with the guitars, you keep the foundation rock-solid without sacrificing the aggressive bite of a heavy performance.

Singularity automates this process so you don't have to edit individual notes or rely on separate plugins.

Just flip Pitch Correct on, and the engine locks each note.

You still retain the authentic feel of a real bassist - fret noise, dynamics, and all - but you eliminate the sharp spikes that can derail a tightly polished production.

What is the lowest note of Singularity?

The lowest playable note is B-1. In other words, it can play a full octave lower than that of a traditionally tuned 5-string bass.
