Rave Generation Sonic Spread
Spatial Processing Plugin
Sonic Spread is a stereo utility plugin that gives you detailed control over stereo imaging and delay-based spatial effects.
It is designed for sound designers, music producers, and audio engineers who want to add width, depth, and dimensionality to their mixes.
The plugin is especially effective for creating the Haas effect, which enhances stereo width by introducing a small delay between the left and right channels.
It also includes tools for emulating the classic Duophonic effect, first developed at Capitol Records in the 1960s.
This effect splits a mono signal into two channels, applies a slight delay to one, and shapes the sound using filters.
One channel removes low frequencies with a high-pass filter, while the other removes highs with a low-pass filter, creating an artificial stereo image that can be expanded further with reverb or echo.
Sonic Spread offers control over key parameters such as delay time, frequency filtering, volume balance, and pan.
You can also adjust stereo width with independent controls for mid and side content, giving you fine-tuned control over the stereo field.
Built-in clipping protection prevents distortion, keeping the signal clean at all settings.
These features make Sonic Spread a versatile tool for precise stereo enhancement, from subtle imaging tweaks to bold spatial effects.
Delay Control
Independently adjust the delay for the left and right channels, creating a wider stereo image.
Stereo Width Control
Precisely control the stereo width to widen or narrow the stereo field, enhancing the spatial characteristics of your audio.
Frequency Shaping
Use high-pass and low-pass filters on both left and right channels for detailed tonal shaping.
Volume and Pan Adjustments
Separate controls for mid and side channels allow you to balance the stereo field and control panoramic placement.
Dry/Wet Mix
Adjust the blend between processed (wet) and unprocessed (dry) signals for flexible effect intensity.
Clipping Protection
Built-in soft and hard clipping prevents any peaks above 0dB, ensuring a clean and distortion-free output.
Duophonic Effect Capabilities
Simulate stereo sound from mono sources by desynchronizing two channels, with frequency shaping and optional reverb or stereo echo.
