Overloud SuperCabinet Library: Jensen Blackbird 12-40

The official Jensen IR library based on the "Blackbird" P12/40 BB AlNiCo speaker

The Blackbird 40 is the first speaker in the Jet Series featuring Jensen's exclusive Reinforced AlNiCo magnet technology, developed to increase the strength of the magnetic flux.

The voice of the Blackbird 40 offers a powerful, controlled bass range and all the sparkly brilliance that is typical of the classic Jensen Speakers.

Equally suited to clean, quasi-acoustic tones, to crunchy overdrive ones, up to powerfully distorted lead tones, the Blackbird 40 offers a very distinct yet versatile character.

It suits a wide range of applications, from the traditional, warm, jazz, country, rock and blues tones, up to the fiercer brit-style power-chords and lead lines.

The capturing process has focused on the 1x12 and 2x12 Open Back cabinets, best suited to deliver the natural complexity of the Blackbird 40 tones; each cabinet has been miked up with the usual Overloud assortment of 18 microphones, each in 16 different positions.

Made For Supercabinet

• The library is created for TH-U Supercabinet, which allows to:
• Graphically browse the IRs in the library
• Blend them together
• Craft new cabinet tones with the unique Multiband mode
• Use the IR in the software
• Export the IRs in .wav, compatible with the software IR loaders and all the major hardware modelers

Every microphone has been moved to 4 different horizontal positions (Cap, Cap Edge, Cone, and Cone Edge), two distances, and two angulations, for a total of 16 IRs each.

All the measurement set has been repeated for each one of the cabinets in the library.

All IRs have been phase-aligned and can be blended without phase cancellations.
