NoiseWorks Audio VoiceAssist
ARA Dialogue Processing Plugin
Dialogue editing comes with a familiar set of challenges: cleaning up noisy takes, restoring clarity, managing breaths and sibilance, balancing levels, and creating consistency across recordings from different days, locations, and microphones - often under tight deadlines.
VoiceAssist was built specifically to handle these realities.
It builds on the foundation set by DynAssist and takes it further, streamlining key parts of the dialogue workflow.
VoiceAssist uses an ARA-powered analysis engine to generate automation for common tasks that slow you down.
It's not about replacing creative decisions - it's about removing the repetitive, non-creative work that gets in the way.
Cleaning and First Pass Repair
Dialogue recordings often come with background noise, room tone, or simply lack clarity.
The Clean section lets you reduce unwanted ambience quickly and clearly.
The Recover Highs function restores lost top-end detail.
The goal is to give you a clean, workable starting point without introducing artifacts.
Low End Recovery and Resonance Work
Dialogue recorded across different setups often has inconsistent low-end.
The Lowend section helps balance those differences by restoring missing weight or controlling excess buildup - without muddying the midrange.
Resonant Reduction automatically detects harsh peaks caused by room issues, mic placement, or delivery angle, and offers a single control to reduce them - saving you from manual EQ hunting.
Lowcut Control that Follows the Performance
A fixed high-pass filter doesn't always work for dynamic dialogue.
VoiceAssist gives you two options:
Manual lowcut or Pitch-tracking lowcut that follows the speaker's fundamental.
This helps remove unwanted rumble without thinning the voice.
Smart Gating for Variable Noise Floors
Different takes, different locations - different background noise.
The Gate section helps stabilize the noise floor by allowing you to adjust thresholds or define custom boundaries, making it easier to blend takes recorded under different conditions.
Automation that Reduces Setup Time
The Speed section analyzes the performance and creates level automation.
You can refine this automation directly, and your edits remain part of the result even if the overall settings change.
Targets include LUFS I and LUFS S, supporting delivery requirements in broadcast and streaming.
Catch Peaks helps control sudden spikes, reducing the load on limiters and compressors.
This approach offers a more transparent way of shaping a performance and reduces the need for large stacks of corrective plugins.
Breaths and Sibilance with More Control
Breaths and sibilance often require repetitive manual attention.
VoiceAssist lets you adjust boundaries or add your own so the processing reflects the material rather than forcing it into a preset mould.
The Sibilance section includes Spectral Sensitivity, which focuses on harsh content within the sibilant itself.
This helps avoid the flattened consonants and lisping artefacts that can occur when traditional de-essers are pushed too far.
Standalone Processing and Automation Export
Not every workflow uses ARA, and not every session stays in one DAW.
VoiceAssist includes a standalone version for offline processing and the option to export automation for use in any environment.
This supports studios where projects move between editors or between rooms with different setups.
