JST Toneforge Jeff Loomis
3-channel Guitar Amp Sim with IR Loader
Mix-Ready Metal Tones from A Legendary Team
Toneforge Jeff Loomis is the perfect virtual guitar tone solution in both plugin and standalone formats for the studio and the stage brought to you by Joey Sturgis Tones, producer Jens Bogren, and legendary guitarist Jeff Loomis!
Three Impressive Amps
With their expertise and guidance, we went down a path towards the best shredder amp we could envision. We ultimately arrived at this all-in-one solution for anyone looking to bring those massive, cut-throat sounds to their home studio or live rig. With Toneforge Jeff Loomis, you're getting access to three stellar amp options:
- Channel 1 - A shred-worthy Lead channel
- Channel 2 - A powerful and present Rhythm channel (with switchable tube modes)
- Channel 3 - A crystal-clear Clean channel
Dial in the perfect amount of clarity for your clean tones, adding contrast and character to even the heaviest shred tracks.
Take a unique approach to your rhythm guitars with an instantly switchable tube mode, allowing you to shift from 6L6s to EL34s on the fly.
Just don't forget to crank up that master knob to virtually push the output tubes!
A shredder's tone is best represented by their blistering leads, and this Lead channel delivers them in full. Keep the Shred knob low as you’re sitting behind the vocal, and then crank it up when it’s time to shred!
The Amp Is Just the Start
What makes an incredible amp even better? A great pair of cabs to run it into.
For the first time in the Toneforge series, Toneforge Jeff Loomis introduces a dual-cab mode, allowing you to run two cabs and two mics side-by-side in the plugin. Keep them panned together for a layered guitar tone or spread them wide for a full stereo rig!
Use one of our perfectly matched cabinets or load your own with the built-in Impulse Response feature.
Double the Matched Cabs
Existing Toneforge owners know all about our cab-matching process. In previous releases, the JST Matched Cab acted as the benchmark for great tone – hand-selected by founder Joey Sturgis to pair perfectly with whichever amp you're using.
With Toneforge Jeff Loomis, you get not one, but TWO world-class producers contributing to the cab options available. Jens Bogren & his company Bogren Digital have partnered with JST to add his favorite impulse responses, presets, and more to Toneforge Jeff Loomis!
Take Your Tone Further with Effect Pedals
Toneforge Jeff Loomis has 4 epic effects built into the plugin for even further tonal exploration and experimentation:
GTR COMP - Compressor Pedal
A straightforward guitar compressor pedal. Set the Sensitivity as you see fit, then dial in the Output to hit your amp with the perfect amount of gain.
OVERDRIVEN - Overdrive Pedal
Push your tone to the limit with the built-in overdrive pedal. Inspired by a classic overdrive/distortion pedal used in countless thrash and progressive metal records, "Overdriven" is capable of handing anything from a slight amount of grit all the way to pushing your amp into full-on insanity!
SKY BOX - Reverb Pedal
The Sky Box is a boutique reverb pedal using modern reverb algorithms and controls. The pedal has 7 reverb modes to choose from and gives users control over the Decay, Pre-Delay, Tone, Modulation, and Mix of the signal.
Feeling adventurous? Experiment with the Mod control on different settings and see how automating it can generate some truly out-of-this-world results!
ECHO MAN - Delay Pedal
The Echo Man is a delay pedal with all of the controls you’ll need for sitting your guitar perfectly in your mix. Whether you’re looking to have a quick slapback-style delay that pushes your guitars to the front of your mix or longer, spacier echoes – this pedal can get the job done.
Use the sync option to keep your delays locked to the tempo of your song or turn it off for independent operation!
Control over your tone doesn’t have to stop with the speaker. With onboard post-processing, you can mix your guitar tracks from the same plugin window that you set your amp settings in.
If you've ever swapped out a cabinet or microphone and heard a drastic change in your amp’s tone, this is the perfect solution for you. No need to go back and reset your amp’s EQ – with post-amp equalization you get more control over more frequency bands applied at the end of the signal chain.
Dynamics can be tricky to dial in with aggressive guitars, but they don’t have to be with the right post-processing. The Dynamics section of Toneforge Jeff Loomis gives you a fully configurable way to compress your guitar and control your low end all-in-one interface.
What Makes Toneforge Unique?
Joey Sturgis is a metalcore and hard rock producer, engineer & mixer renowned for his work with bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Miss May I & Asking Alexandria. His plugin development in recent years has led to the creation of some amazing signature guitar rigs with the Toneforge series. Other notable artists in the Toneforge lineup include Jason Richardson of All That Remains, Misha Mansoor of Periphery, and Rex Brown of Pantera.
Toneforge plugins are designed to simplify guitar tone – making it easy to take guitars from direct input to final mix. With this goal in mind, Toneforge Jeff Loomis includes a series of post-amp processors custom-built to fit the needs of the amp models included in the plugin.
