Inspired by the iconic drum sound from Don Henley's Hotel California, Vintage Standard delivers the warmth, presence, and character of the classic drum sounds of the past.
To achieve this sound, we used some of the finest modern equipment to capture the drum set's unique sound while also treating the kit in the same way they did back in the '70s.
This included giving masking tape and napkins a run for their money to achieve the desired vintage sound.
After a careful mixdown of the multitrack recording to stereo, the Vintage Standard drumset was run through an analog tape reel to acquire that elusive saturation and classic drum sound.
The end result is a drumset with a dry ambient sound and short decay that projects punch, warmth, and controlled tom sound.
The cymbals are also designed to have a dark, vintage sound that complements the rest of the kit.
