Gates are a staple tool in every audio production job, but anyone who has used one knows that balance between cutting noise and chopping off your signal.
Gatey Watey is a gate that, through a simple crossover network, lets you have significantly more transparent gating without cutting off the sound you want to hear.
By breaking up the reduction into two bands and giving independent range controls, it allows you to cut the high frequencies more while letting the low frequencies through, letting your instrument ring out while it decays.
It also provides a more transparent transition from open to closed, reducing that "silence after noise" pumping that happens on broadband gates.
