Aurora DSP Laboga Mr. Hector Suite

Guitar Amp Plugin

Experience a new standard in boutique, handcrafted Laboga amplifier simulations.

The legendary Mr. Hector has been entirely rebuilt using Aurora's advanced DriveNET Neural Network Modeling engine, meticulously capturing not only the gain structure, tone stack, and speaker cabinet responses but also the subtle interactions between channel volumes and authentic power-amp dynamics relative to preamp settings.

In addition, Aurora DSP has included a second amplifier, the Beast - Mr. Hector’s younger, more aggressive sibling, delivering a sharper, edgier tone.

Mr. Hector

Ultra-high-gain amp with tight lows, aggressive tone, and 100W output.

Two channels with shared EQ, Bright and Mid switches for shaping tone from vintage crunch to modern metal.

Selectable tube or diode rectifier for either saggy compression or tight response.

The Beast

Three-channel 30W amp with four EL84 tubes.

Clean and Crunch share controls but offer distinct tones, from sparkling clean to vintage-style breakup.

Drive channel delivers modern high-gain tones with Bass, Treble, and a Mid Switch for added versatility.

Unique "Character" knob on Clean/Crunch shapes a wide range of tones via a simplified tone stack.

The Mid Switch revoices the Drive channel EQ for classic or tighter response.

Pedal Section

  • Custom voiced overdrive - Matched, not just another typical TS808 clone.
  • OctaFuzz pedal - Bold, gritty fuzz character.
  • Crunch Booster - engineered to enhance clarity and brightness without introducing harsh or unpleasant frequencies.
  • 6-Band Input EQ - Focus your tone before hitting the amp.

Cabinet Section

  • 6 cabinets modeled
  • 6 speaker types: V30, Creamback, MT77, Veteran 30, Deamon, CV75
  • 4 mic options per cab
  • Full cab/mic control for tone shaping
  • SpeakerX

SpeakerX

SpeakerX is a real-time DSP engine that simulates the nonlinear behavior of guitar speakers using advanced physical modeling techniques based on Klippel's nonlinear loudspeaker analysis and a proprietary sandwich architecture.

It recreates the authentic "speaker tone" by adding subtle, natural coloration that makes the signal sound more musical and lifelike.

Instead of a flat, sterile digital sound, SpeakerX delivers a rich, spatial character - as if you're hearing your guitar through a mic'd cabinet in a room.

The engine also models diffraction effects, further enhancing realism and depth in the tone.

Time FX

Chorus

Classic Chorus gives your sound a rich, shimmering depth by subtly doubling and detuning your signal.

Perfect for widening guitars, lush synths, or giving vocals that dreamy analog vibe.

Tremolo

Waveform Tremolo shapes your sound by rhythmically modulating the volume with selectable waveforms, from smooth sine to sharp square.

Create anything from vintage pulse to experimental stutter with a twist of a knob.

Delay

Ping Pong delay gives you the classic stereo feedback delay moving the repetetive sounds between left and right channel.

Add an extra dimension to your sound.

Reverb

Aurora Reverb is the universally sounding reverb effect, from small rooms to endless caves, all with just a few knob turns.

FX Rack

Introducing Aurora DSP's Guitar Tone Rack, a signal chain designed specifically for guitars, combining top-tier analog modelling and digital processing to deliver a powerful, punchy, and refined guitar sound.

This rack is built with the following iconic modules:

10-Band EQ

A classic graphic EQ, with 10 bands of +/- 12dB gain, proportional Q and VU meters. Enhanced with an additional drive module for vintage saturation.

Sonic Optimizer

An advanced signal processor for adjusting the character of the sound.

Useful for improving the low-end definition, adding some high-end clarity, as well as adjusting the overall feel

Limiting Amplifier

Based on a legendary FET compressor/limiter known for its fast attack times and transparent compression widely used in studios for guitars to achieve punchy and smooth dynamics.

Leveling Amplifier

Modelled after an optical tube-based compressor with a warm, smooth character.

With a slow attack and release, it's a favorite for guitar processing, due to its natural-sounding compression.

The Basics

iLok is a copy protection method used by many of our brands.

It has 3 types of activations, iLok USB, iLok Machine, and iLok Cloud.

Different brands/products will offer different iLok methods. iLok USB is always an option, but the availability of iLok Cloud and iLok Machine methods is at the discretion of the software developer.

iLok Account

For all iLok protected products, you will need an iLok account. You can create one for free here: ilok.com/#!registration

iLok License Manager

To manage your iLok licenses, there is a dedicated app called iLok License Manager. This app is used to register, activate, and move your licenses between locations.

You can download the latest installers from the iLok website: ilok.com/#!home

iLok USB Key

iLok USB

This activation is stored on an iLok 2 or 3 USB key.

It is the best option for portability, if you frequently move between multiple machines, and offline use.

iLok Machine ID

Machine ID

This activation is stored locally on your computer.

While this is a convenient way to work offline, and does not require the additional cost of an iLok USB, there is the risk of a license being lost in the case of a drive failure.

This option also requires extra care when you upgrade to a new computer, the license(s) must be deactivated on your old machine first to ensure you do not lose them.

iLok Cloud

iLok Cloud

This activation is based online, and requires a "cloud session" using the iLok License Manager.

It requires an active internet connection for the entire time you use the plugin(s).

Crossgrade Proof

This crossgrade is for owners of a competing DAW. To prove your DAW ownership, we require that you upload proof in the form of an image/PDF.

Types of proof

A copy of your purchase receipt for the original license or the most recent update/upgrade

A screenshot of your product registration

A photo of your package (either CD/DVD or printed manual), with the unique serial number included in the photo.
