The Basics

iLok is a copy protection method used by many of our brands.

It has 3 types of activations, iLok USB, iLok Machine, and iLok Cloud.

Different brands/products will offer different iLok methods. iLok USB is always an option, but the availability of iLok Cloud and iLok Machine methods is at the discretion of the software developer.

iLok Account

For all iLok protected products, you will need an iLok account. You can create one for free here: ilok.com/#!registration

iLok License Manager

To manage your iLok licenses, there is a dedicated app called iLok License Manager. This app is used to register, activate, and move your licenses between locations.

iLok USB Key

iLok USB

This activation is stored on an iLok 2 or 3 USB key.

It is the best option for portability, if you frequently move between multiple machines, and offline use.

iLok Machine ID

Machine ID

This activation is stored locally on your computer.

While this is a convenient way to work offline, and does not require the additional cost of an iLok USB, there is the risk of a license being lost in the case of a drive failure.

This option also requires extra care when you upgrade to a new computer, the license(s) must be deactivated on your old machine first to ensure you do not lose them.

iLok Cloud

iLok Cloud

This activation is based online, and requires a "cloud session" using the iLok License Manager.

It requires an active internet connection for the entire time you use the plugin(s).

With Harmonic Geometry, Richard Devine explores our string modeling synthesizer in all its facets. In his distinctive style, he brings us elaborate timbral perspectives and intricate textural spaces using the many shapes and forms of String Studio VS-3. These ingenious constructions materialize into an eclectic collection of sounds spanning modern sci-fi territories, ambiences, surprising percussions, resonant vibrational effects, and exotic instruments. Harmonic Geometry comprises 130 presets divided into eight categories: Pad, Effect, Arpeggiator, Plucked, Synth, Keys, Percussion, and Ambient.

Who's Richard Devine?

Richard Devine is a versatile and prolific artist and sound designer based in Atlanta, Georgia. He has released five different albums and performed his music worldwide. He has provided sounds to major companies such as Apple, Audi, BMW, Coke, Nestlé, Nike, and many more. He has also done some scoring for TV and movies, and sound design for video games. Richard also has done synthesis programming for major audio companies and recently released his own sound effect libraries with Sony Creative Software.

Works Two Ways

Harmonic Geometry was created with the String Studio VS-3 string oscillator synthesizer. You can obviously play and edit the sounds in String Studio VS-3, but you can also access and play them via the free AAS Player included with your Harmonic Geometry purchase.
